counter strike players, check in

what version? i played the first couple versions of it but haven't looked at it in years... can you still play it without installing Steam?
 
I play all the time. I prefer Deathmatch servers though...I get tired of waiting for all the campers to die off. If you haven't tried a Deathmatch server I highly recommend it. You pick any gun you want (pistol and other), you start with all 3 types of grenades and you go. When you die you just respawn at a random point. Game ends at first player to 75 kills.

Sounds like Slayer on Halo.
 
Deathmatch servers are great. Although, i do like the stratagy of trying to plant the bomb or rescue the hostages in a small 5v5 type game.

Man, i might have to guy buy some computer parts and get back into it.

I have all the CS games but i rarely play them. I'm still way too hooked on TFC. That's just a fun ass game.
 
The new CS:S is so much more advanced than old school CS. I'm 23 (on Wednesday anyhow) and have been playing since I was 16, so I was around for all the beta shit too.

TFC is also my favorite, even over CS:S but I don't play it anymore. I don't have the old Half Life loaded anymore on my computer. I'm waiting for TFC for CS:S to come out...that looks awesome.

If anyone is interested in playing on the Deathmatch server I play on, here is the info on it:

My ping is usually very good there. It's a 20 person server with bots if theres less than 10. And to clarify from before, once you join the game you'll have to pick a team (terrorist or CT...like normal) From there, you'll instantly spawn somewhere and have 3 options pop up. You pick your optinos with the number keys on the top of your keyboard. You make your selection of new weapons (pick pistols first, then you go to the other guns menu) After you die you'll be given the same menu. The 3rd option is to always respawn with the weapons you last had. Once you do that you won't get the menu anymore, but you'll respawn with the weapons you chose. If you want to reenable the menu to pick new ones, during the game type "guns" and it'll come up right then. You can only change once every life, FYI.
 
I haven't played CS in a long time... Couldn't stand all the exploits and hacks everyone used...

haha I noticed that. Once you get used to it it isn't so bad. My K/D ratio is something like 1.30 with 4500 kills on there. Once you get the hang of it it's much more fun.
