One of are 4 dogs Gracie a 5year old Bug ( boston ter/ pug mix ) is going in to surgery tomorrow..about a month ago my wife noticed a bump on her foot between her toes on her rear foot..and took her MSU..turns out is small but its cancer she also found a small lump on her side and a veryy tiny one on her ear..after some expensive testing the confirmed they are 2 diff kinds of cancer..even tho it was just in her toes..we made the decision to do surgery and to be safe and only put her threw one surgery and to amputate the whole leg and not risk not getting it all...ive got to say this is probly been one of the hardest desions ive ever had to make..esp when she seems so heath and strong you would never know anything was wrong with her expect for a tender foot..anyways there going to do the surgery in the morning..so im a wreck..hope she makes it threw it ok..and doesnt look like swiss cheese.

Poor dog. My mom's pug has to have surgery too. I get pissed at the people who breed these animals with so many fucking health problems.

Best wishes to you and your beloved pet. I like dogs so much more than people. I believe a dog or cat's love should be the dictionary definition of unconditional. Good luck.

Thank you guys for your support i know theres alot of dog lovers on here and it nice to know theres the support when u need it..i was truely struggling lastnite my wife had takin her to the see the surgen and i wasnt able to go..i assumed it would be awhile before we could get in for such a major surgery..i didnt know if the surgen would want to just remove the toes or do the whole leg..so when my wife came home and said there were going to take the whole leg and do it tomorrow morning..i never had a chance to say goodbye and that had me alil choked up honestly..

anyways we got a call this morning from MSU and they said everything went just fine and shes recovering now...so thank you guys all the thoughts and prayers from everyone must have worked!!

well heres the update..its been 1 week since she had surgery..and she is doing amazing..98% of all her brusing is gone already..and shes moving around veryyy well..i thought we were going to have to carry her around with a towel for the first couple days to help her around..but we havent had to do a thing she picked it up right away. other then pick her up to talk her up and down the stairs..even hopped over a few things and today she started to get alil spunky again

edit* as i was typing this..the vet called and said that the goodnews the one on her ear and side were mass cell and have a very low chance of spreeding..but the one in her toe was a sarcoma (sp) of the blood vessle...which is not good..which means she has a 50/50 chance of reacuring..and they said suggested kemo..i dont know how much that cost im sure it cant be cheap..and i also dont know much about kemo how painfull it is for the dog etc...i really dont wanna put her threw anymore and im not sure how much more i can afford to spend as bad as that sounds

Hang in there buddy, it sounds like you are handling this better than I would and am sure you will make the right decision.

The neighbor behind me got a Bug about a year ago. Lucy looks like Gracies twin, they are great little dogs.

Continued prayers for Gracie.
