cost to own a nissan GTR

There is a dark silver GTR that I have seen many times around the Maple/Coolidge area. The middle-aged man driving it didn't look like he was too hard-pressed for money or too worried about the maintenance cost on that vehicle. I guess its one of those things that if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

I can afford it and its STILL insane! That article had a great point though, WHAT is in that fluid thats worth 114 a qt? ;) (gold trans fluid?!!?)

Those prices are way over inflated. Just like doing front wheel bearings on the late '90's GM cars. Like Alero's. Dealership get's like $450ish to do one front bearing. Do it your self with a quality bearing and life time warranty. Part will cost you $100 or so and LESS than 30min of time.
You can see the mark up on the Mobile oil and $150 labor to change oil. Come on.
That job could be done for less than half that at an independant shop.

Thats the thing man... these prices are not over inflated.

If you get these done ANYWHERE, even another Nissan dealer - anywhere but a GTR certified dealer, your warranty is Null/Void. They know this and stick it up your ass.

It is a sequential gear box, like a F-1 car with paddle shifters and all so who knows what in it, but it is a pretty bad ass trans. Its just that everything around it is heavy and shitty including the warranty.

And the cost to buy: According to eBay which is a great way to find the going price of something:

GTR: 70K-85K (25-10000 miles)
C6Z: 47K-85K (2-18000 miles)

Hummm..

Until you press the "void warranty" button.

That aint shit. I have a Porsche dealer that has the new Panamara on their floor and a brake job: new pads and rotors is $13,000

Probably Carbon Ceramic, I was pricing ZR1 rotors and they are like $3K a pair so of course thats not surprising given they are rare/uplevel materials. An oil/trans/diff change for that much $ is pretty nuts, I dont think even Ferrari charges that much LOL

A friend of mines dad was pretty well off, looked into a ferrari 355 and was about sold until they told him it was $1500 for an oil change. I've done an oil change on a R34 and they are no picnic.
