Corvette Canadian Adventure

Very well... where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. Oops, wrong story! Well I hopped in my vette and picked up my friend Casey to flee the border of America! After a small controversy with Casey not having proper proof of citizenship, the Canadian customs guy liked my car owning an LS2 CTS-V himself and let us on our way

On we go! And my first thoughts.... Canada blows! Literally!

But seriously.... lot of boring fields on the way to Grand Bend!

Felt like James Bond in this vette with all the cool gadgets! Took advantage of switching everything over to metric :smash: Helped greatly on keeping me from speeding but WTF is L/100KM :willy:

Safely made it to the track however and I will quote, "A true street car drives to a track in another country, races, and drives back home to America!" :flag: lol.

Now it gets good........

First pass, launch at ~4000, dead hooks, leaves nice but feels a bit "weird", I grab second and it immediately goes to the limiter! Joyous! As you can see, smoke as well...... smells of a clutch!!!!

And boom goes the dynamite!

Anyways, let it cool for an hour or so and decide what the hell, let's give it one more shot!

Got these pictures rolling up!

Result was worse. Launched and it slipped all in first bad and wouldn't even let me into second, ABORT!

Figuring it is now worthless, we decided to hit the road while we had some cool photo opportunities to make the trip as best as possible! :smash:

Enjoy the glamour shots by Deb!

So you went all the way there and didn't get a clean run in because of your clutch? That's very Casey :hay:

Oh yeah, all PHOTO CREDIT: 99LSWON

Yea, drove to Canada, first pass.... shit, try again after letting cool for an hour..... same crap, drive home :)

very nice pics. sorry to hear about your clutch. L/100kms means litres of fuel consumed per 100kms. so by you pic yo were burning 13 litres per 100 kms which equals about 17.5 mpg

glad i didnt drive all the way over with the truck and trailer only for you to run two runs... LOL :flipa: :flipa:

now get your ass to work on that new clutch for 131 next weekend

Have fun with the clutch, it's interesting how the whole drivetrain comes out but you get used to it. I've had mine apart a couple of times :)

Car looks and sounds good as always, at least you were able to drive it home :)

Thanks, took driveline out today and put new clutch in. Feels great so far. Only 495 more miles of break in to go! haha
