My girlfriend is in the Navy, stationed in Pensacola, and bought a car while she was in Michigan for the holidays. Stinger and I delivered it to her last weekend. Stopped in Bowling Green Friday night on the way down and hit the National Corvette Museum Friday morning. Then hit the Naval Aviation Museum while there. Some random road trip pics in the album too. Saw some cool stuff and had a good time.

As usual, clicking the thumbs gets you a reasonably sized picture. Clicking the reasonably sized picture gets you 10 megapixels of fury. I'm just not feeling up to posting highlights at the moment.

Almost forgot, we met an astronaut taking delivery of his ZR1! There is an option on the Corvettes to take delivery at the museum. An astronaut happened to be taking delivery of his black ZR1 while we were there. Cool guy, lives in Florida and has the Florida space shuttle plate on his car with the space shuttle mission number as his plate number. He had been up twice and his pick up had the same plate with his other mission number on it.

It was an Audi A4 2.0T Quattro. I was surprised the thing got to 135 and was still going, I was getting out of the cozy little area I felt comfortable flying through though. As much as I wanted to get her in a GM, she wanted AWD, a CTS was bigger than she was looking for. She was trying to buy used as well and didn't see any deals on used CTS's. Saab 9-3's just don't exist as used and AWD. She drove every mid sized AWD thing I could think of, I was hoping she would like the MKZ but she didn't like the rear ward visibility.

The 83 Corvette is, I believe, the first Corvette in the album, white. Picture of a sign with it stating it's the one remaining 83 Vette.

Is rum runners still open?

How about Floriabamas?

we in in FL for like 22 hours LOL

we rolled into Pensacola around 7pm saturday. Hit a GREAT BBQ joint (I am told its a chain in the south) then went and saw Gran Torino. Slept. Then spent ALL day Sunday at the Avaition museum and getting a base tour :secret: before flying out at 5:30pm

If you ever go back those were the hot spots in my day. :D Floriabamas is very cool. Its right on the beach. Half of it is in Florida and half is in Alabama.

Sounds like a very cool trip!!

My girlfriend has spoken of Floribama, it is still open. Not really sure on Rum runners though. My girlfriend is living in an apartment in Pensacola Beach. 9th floor on the beach. The pictures of the beach were taken off her balcony.
