Cop Haters...

I've heard this from a few different people and just wanted to see if its actually true. I was told that there was recently a law passed that prevents police from pulling you over just for tint. So you have to be doing something more significant wrong for them to pull you over and then be cited for tint as opposed to being pulled over just for tint. Any truth here?

I have a question for you.

In general, how do officers feel about civilians driving ex-police cars?
Mine looks like the real deal (minus any lights, strobes, etc.) and i've been pulled over in Centerline recently and explained that the car was mainly used for work purposes (i own a repossession company and use it for spotting and field calls) and he understood and let me go.

I'm just wondering if i should expect to be pulled over a lot?

What was his reason for pulling you over?

We are all human and we all make mistakes...............if your honest and are not a ass to the officer ( no matter how big a A-HOLE they may be) it will help you in court......In my opinion and past you should always take it to court.....It may be higher in cost but most times it can be dropped to a lesser charge......Im sure some have already said these things but remember all they see is what you give them...A bad attitude goes no were fast and they deal with the scum of the earth every day....There computer is there only link to who and what you have done in the past, And in there eyes everybody lies....HAHA well we all do dont we

I didn't think they could pull you over for just tint. The past couple times I was pulled over he said he couldn't see if I had a belt on.

my one and only tint ticket was for just tint. It was given to me about a month ago, so I'm guessing that unless the law JUST changed that they can pull you over for tint.

PM cmyz28 about the email notifications. He can fix them supposedly.

when I was 16 I was driving through Royal Oak on 12 mile and I stopped at a red light and next to me was a car full of punk kids. they started asking me questions like where are my boys, and such like they were trying to start some shit with me and then started asking me if I had money, if I had drugs and other questions to that nature. I tried to ignore them as much as I could but I didn't want to say or do anything that might set them off since I was by myself and there were at least 5 of them in the car. so as soon as the light turned green I hi-tailed it out of there and turned at the next major street and I was going a little fast but I was trying to lose them. and I wasn't sure if they had turned after me or not. I wasn't going to wait around to find out. somewhere I passed a cop and he pulled me over I really don't know where he was so I wasn't sure what he saw and what he didn't see. so when he pulled me over he asked me why I was going so fast. I explained to him what happened word for word and that I didn't really feel like getting mugged or worse by these douchebags because I was on my way to go pay a utility bill for my mom and had some cash on me. so when I told him what happened he asked me "was it that black Cadillac that you were sitting next to at the light. which tells me that he saw everything, and I was honest with him about everything and he still wrote me the ticket. this happened over 20 years ago so there was no cell phone to call police or anything. and really didn't know how to fight any tickets so I just went ahead and paid for it.

thinking back what should I have done differently either in dealing with these douchbags or dealing with the douchebag cop who saw everthing and gave me a ticket anyways?

First I would say the past is the past and not to dwel on it.

The kids in the car next to you were just punks and just taunting you.

The cop I guess was more "buy the book" than some rather than being more understanding. That being said the punks in the car really did not pose a threat that required you speed off and try to loose them. They werent coming out of the car with weapons, throwing things at you etc. Now being 16 Im sure you felt that it the situation was more serious than it was but now that your older Im sure things would be different :)

It was titled "how to taser an innocent, shoot their dog, and rape their wife while getting a free vacation for idiots."

or, "how to deal with 'adults' that refuse to grow up and take responsibility for their actions but have no problem blaming others..."

I figured the tint law rumor was fake anyways haha Especially since I've been pulled over for tint 3 or 4 times in the last couple months. I have a prescription for tint so I never have any troubles, they're always usually pretty nice once they realize that I'm not some a-hole. A couple of them even stood around and talked for a bit.
