cooling issue

I have the overflow line ran to the top of the water tank in the trunk. What if I move it to the bottom? Then it would be a recirculating can. Right?

move it to the bottom and let it recirculate mine is done that way. But my car is no bad ass turbo car!

sounds right, couldn't hurt

did, didnt do anything.

changed water neck, added 160 stat. moved the -4 line to the bottom of the water tank and filled the tank over half way with water, hoping it would pull water back into the system. not so much. took it for a ride, right to 200. got back home, let the water pump run for a few, pulled the cap, blew a little water out. when cap was off, no water, added half gallon slowly. i dont know. seems full now. ill try again tomorrow.
 
after i was able to add that 1/2 gallon of water yesterday, i took it out again just know......... 210..... its in the garage cooling off now
 
Are you sure that pump is performing the way it's supposed to? What if you reverse cool, put the cold water in the top end and out of the block? Either that or your rad just doesn't have enough surface area to disipate the heat. Ya think adding an oil cooler would help, or have to got an oil temp gauge to see if it's getting hot and not helping your situation? This would irritate me, i have no use for a car i can't street drive!
 
when i pull the cap water is pumpin!

the rad is supposed to good for 1500 hp, im well below that. the fan is totally sealed too. i dont see how its not enough. the motor anything special. low compression, small roller.

monday morning i am going to call ron davis. these parts were not cheap
 
how much at idle part throttle etc ?what is your low speed AF at idle like ?

computer for the car starts up then goes to a black screen, just the white arrow. once i get this figured out, i can answer those questions
 
also when you say 32 total is that under boost ? if so how much boost and are you running racing fuels on the street ?
 
meaney instructed me to bring the motor up to 32 before tdc and drop the dist in on number one. thats where it sits now. i havent played with timing at all since last year when there was a different motor in there, different turbo.

not running boost, i havent got into it, pointless on the street. just rolling down the street. there is torco 110 in the tank. after its out. im going to 94.

SUNOCO quit making ultra 94 last fall...Its 93 octane like all rest and that sucks !

my computer still wont work, but i called a friend that has my tune up in his PC. under 4500rpm its 30-31 degrees. at idle its 25-28 degrees
 
hooked up the laptop on this ride, gauge went to 200-205

Bigstuff was seeing 222!

took some readings with infrared temp gun

top drivers side of rad, 165
middle top, 148
top passenger side, 150

bottom passenger side, 198
bottom drivers side, were water leaves to go to water pump, 175.

looks as if the radiator is heating the water up!

temp of intake where gauge reads 205

where bigstuff reads 190

cap was 207
