Cool announcement about my startup

Sounds like a great idea, and it's great to see innovation still alive.
Hope it succeeds beyond any imagination you may have.

hasn't this idea been done before with little interest from true bicyclist? best of luck guys
Yes. But surprisingly the true cyclists are out-numbered by the casual/recreational riders by a big margin.

We've done demos for the hardcore riders and a few that were highly skeptical were actually pretty stoked about the technology (but not on this style of bike). One is now building a road bike just to put our system on it and show their hardcore friends. Never expected that.

I love biking. Any area events planned? Let me know
when I’d have an opportunity to try one of these out.

Congratulations on the business success!

No success yet. $0 in sales and a lot of $ spent.

Planning on a lot of events and I'll post those up. The riding experience is truly our biggest asset and the best way to get people excited is by letting them try it out.

I ride a lot and would like to see this work (I hate derailleurs). What is the bike like to ride? What gear does the bike feel like it's in (1st,5th etc.) on a normal shifting bike? Got any video of it being ridden. again good luck I hope this works:)

Our website has a demo/explanation of one of our early prototypes. We're currently working on an updated video to use for our pre-selling campaign.

The bike can feel like it's in whatever gear you want in all the various riding conditions. For example, some people like a slower cadence with a harder pedal feel, and they have the ability to make the bike keep them in that condition throughout the entire ride. Others like to pedal at a much faster rate. We let the rider set it and forget it.

We use a CVT transmission so the gearshifts are actually imperceptible and the bike just feeds you gear ratios seamlessly as you ride. You could ride a couple miles and complete 200-300 "shifts" without a single feeling of discontinuity. It's like a snowmobile where you hit the throttle and the gear ratio just changes as you increase speed. We also take into account the grade you're on because you'll likely want to have a higher cadence going up a steep hill than you would going down a hill.

We are providing the canvas and letting the rider paint their own riding experience. Simple, comfortable, and adaptable.

Did you get the trademark from the Autobike from the mid-90s that was sold on Sci-Fi channel at night and later made its way to QVC briefly?

Yes. Still going through the official process but trademarks are funny because you can actually gain the use of it without filing if you choose but it's easier to prevent someone else from using it if it's official and you pay the fee.

"In turn, Betaspring takes 6-10 percent equity in the business."
Are you kidding me? Is Betaspring really going to take your company to the point of being a publicly traded company? and in return They get to keep 6-10%...thats huge!
