i love the look of this plane. it was designed for roundtrip missions to europe from the us in WW2 but the war ended before it entered service. it could also bomb russia from our bases in alaska early in the cold war

Does the brown trim on the wings & tail tie it to a certain military base, or is there another reason for the motif?
