I know theres tons of threads on this, but mine is a tad different in some aspects.
Ok, I never really checked into this swap untill my buddy told me that's its really easy and cheap to do.
At the moment, I have a 94GT with a 95 Cobra motor. It seems Cobra motors are selling for a pretty penny.
I'm not into building engines and such. I take this car to the track alot, and drive it on the street even more. I need to know what decision to make by the weekend because I'm suppose to do a cam swap and nitrous install on my car this weekend.
As stated, I'd be looking at doing a stock swapped 351.
Should I go with a 351W or 351C?
Should I go fuel injected or carb? (i hate wrenching on my stuff, I'm a drive and go type of guy)
If I go fuel injected, do I use my stock ecu or the one provided? How will this affect things like my gauges?
I've been seeing 70s 351W go on craigslist for about $250. Should I go with an older motor, or a newer, roller motor?
Will I need a taller hood?
What's all needed? I was told a 28oz flywheel, possible different headers.
Is this swap worth doing, even though it's a stock swap?
Currently, my setup will be good for 11's. I'm not sure what gains I would see in the 351 swap, which is where I'm trying to educate myself on this.
I can eventually build from this, but it would be a stock swap for now, as I don't even have an engine stand to build a motor, nor the time or want to.
Thanks!
