connect netflix to not smart tv, and keep it easy. ???

My parents are trying to set up Netflix on their TV.
They are a little computer friendly, but not for stuff like this which is more advanced.
The TV is a Sony bravia-kdl37m4000, it has no Ethernet port, or wireless.
Right now they’re using a HDMI cable from the PC in one room and connecting it to the TV in another room.
Not working out so well.

They have no video game units to connect with, possibly a DVD player, but it is probably pretty dated.

I’m wondering what is an easy/simple way they can connect Netflix to their TV?
I’ve seen these Roku things, but I don’t know anything about them.

Anyone?

USB will always provide power no matter what as long as the TV is powered on. The Chromecast can be powered from the USB port or a wall wart.
 
Roku is simple and you get your own remote for that device.
Linking the accounts to that device is pretty simple as well. Plus you can get free channels as well and watch all sorts of stuff, some newer some older.

HA! Do not buy a sony Blu-ray and expect to watch Netflix!

I've been dealing with this for awhile.

Looks like Sony doesn't have a deal/agreement with Netflix, so to screw the consumer, all content goes through sonys servers first. Killing the download speeds. 0.5 - 0.8mbps
 
+1 for Chromecast.

You plug it into one of the HDMI ports, if you don't have a USB port on the TV, simply plug it into a wall. I steam to my TV using my cell phone, or our ipad, or Xbox360. Make sure to connect to the house's wifi, so your cell phone doesn't eat up your data plan.

When you open the neflix app, after selecting a movie, in the top right corner is a little wifi looking button, click it and select the chromecast and it will stream to the tv.

Its awesome, and I love mine.
