Concealed carry at auto show

I thought there was a thread about this from last year but I couldn't find it.

Can you carry at the auto show in cobo?

I am going in a couple hours and don't wanna walk in and get searched with a gun under my shirt lol.
 
I usually carry everywhere tho . Just not sure if they are going to search you or not or if there are metal detectors . I cant remember lol
 
is it stated any where that cobo holds 2500 people or more?
if not I think you are ok?

It's safe to say that the stated capacity of a place that can actually hold 15,000 people is over 2,500.
 
The law states that the venue can not have a capacity greater then 2500 SEATED. Due to the many different areas/useage I would assume cobo is a pistol free zone.

I'd leave it at home if I was going to a place where I wasn't sure if I could keep it with me at all times. I never, ever leave mine in my vehicle.

You are correct, seating capacity is the key, over 21000 @ Cobo center. Same reason you can technically carry at Hart Plaza
 
I went on Saturday.. not pat down or metal detectors. Same thing with ford field for monster jam.. Totally could have got in with a pistol.
 
If you have a CPL you should already know the answer to any question regarding where you can and cannot conceal carry. If you don't, you should know where to find the legally accurate answer.

On another note, consider where you're going and ask yourself "would I rather be carried by 6 or judged by 12?"

I was gonna say common sense, but above seems nicer.
 
Really, you want to take a gun into COBO hall, a family event? You're going to be climbing in and out of vehicles and if it should slip out on to the ground or into a car and a kid finds it, not going to be a pretty situation.

If your gun gun "slips" out of your holster, you should buy a better holster!

Going to Destroit, I would definitely carry concealed.. I would NOT leave it in my truck and I would bring it in with me even seeing this sign..

Is church a family event? I'd say so and the number of shootings that happens in church is alarming. btw who the hell has a gun that slips out lol?
 
Permits seem to be handed out to anyone these days, and some people are not always thinking about others safety. So seeing the situation going wrong is easily imaginable.
