Computer tech Question Dual monitors ??

I still use my Dell Desktop and acquired my parents old monitor which happens to be the same as my current monitor.. I have a Dell Dimension E510 tower and would like to utilize the 2nd monitor.. I just need a cheap Card Nothing fancy for Gaming or super hardcore computer tech.. Both monitors have the standard blue monitor plug.. what do you guys recommend that will work with this old girl :joystick:

This doesn't have a video card in it?? Usually they have some sort of "tv tuner" card. If so, you will have a dvi(white) and vga(blue) plug on it.

If you have this, you'll need a vga to dvi adapter.

I don't believe so I will double check tomorrow but I think it has the video integrated into the mb

If its an older monitor it probably VGA? is the other monitor also VGA?

Just get a splitter and extend the displays, I have 4 monitors at work with dual cards and single DVI out, two splitters each running 2 monitors.

if I use a splitter wont it just show the same screen on both ??

they both have the blue plug ( i think that VGA) they're standard issue Dell 19" flat panels

Yes blue plug is VGA.

No, in your display options it will detect the second monitor, select extend displays.
