Coming Soon

Looks like you are coming full circle. American Muscle>American Tuner>Japanese Tuner>American Muscle

Dont forget the 04 GTO's have lean cruise in the pcm, just gotta get someone to turn it on...gooood gas mileage

You can beat it hard and it will love it. Just make sure you don't over-rev it. They can tap valves to pistons and bend up pushrods when you do that.

seems to happen quite often with LS motors..BBBUUUUTTTTT replacein a set of pushrods is alot cheaper then doing head work and/or pistons

Well, just got back. Took 13 hours in all to get down there, do the deal, and drive back. Very happy with this car! There are a few minor issues that I'll have to take care of in the coming months, but they're basically all cosmetic. Definitely will be a fun summer not having to deal with knock retard any more! ALSO, if anyone has hookups on OEM GM parts, please let me know. I need a couple of interior bits.

Hahaha! I remember those days. So glad they're behind me. Silly Mazda engineering.

most of the time it just bends the rods. upgraded springs stops it. dont upgrade pushrods though without springs

Agree. I'm also interested in the cosmetic issues.

Issues I've found so far:

- Volume dial on radio popped off easily. I remedied this with a bit of superglue. I will be replacing the head unit at some point with something else (nothing too fancy)
- "Mode" radio switch on steering wheel is broken off (basically just wiggles around in the housing). I will remove the radio switches at some point (no need to replace them at this point)
- Steering wheel is showing age with some wear/polishing...also, silver overlay on steering wheel spokes is bubbling/creasing (common problem). I may eventually replace the steering wheel or just take the film off
- Shift knob also bubbled, but some peeled off. Trying to find a used shift knob right now on LS1GTO
- Glove box does not stop where it is supposed to when opened. Not sure what the issue is, but I'll investigate further to figure out if I have to replace anything or rig it to work right
- Front bumper seems to be sticking out slightly on driver's side. Not sure why this is - I'll need to look into that further. Not sure if a tab is broken or not inserted correctly or if there is something else going on
- Missing the 2 rear wheel center caps. Trying to find used ones or replica ones because the OEM ones are like $110 a piece

Issues fixed:
- T/C switch was not working. Turns out it was just unplugged. Plugged it back in and it works fine!
- Car came with a front plate holder. Removed plate holder and ordered plugs that are color matched
- Front side windows were tinted DARK...I would have left it, but the passenger's side had a rip in it, so I just removed it

Car is dirty right now from all the snow and traveling. I may try to wash it up a bit tomorrow and take a few pictures. It won't be anything fancy at this point, but it should get the point across.
