I have 2 comcast accounts and have been a great customer. I closed one of the accounts, and the customer service rep asked if there was anything else I needed. I jokingly said Yes, lower my bill on my other account.
She pulls it up, reviews it and asks about internet usage. Basically I do email, search internet, and occassionally download things.
She then said that Comcasts offers a special deal for EXISTING customers only in my position. Basically, it's called a "value tier" offer.
They internet connection is SLOWER than regular cable, but still much faster than dial up or DSL (have dsl at work).
The price is about 1/3 of what regular cable internet costs.
catches:
1. Must be existing user
2. Is slower than regular cable, but still very fast (not certain the speed)
3. they DO NOT advertise this program, so you have to ask for it.
I think I'm saving about $30/month now. multiply that my 12 months.... that equals a few mods for the truck.
