Cleaning Automotive Carpets

So I'm going to have a little extra time tonight before the lady gets home and I wanted to clean my truck. I have an automotive carpet shampoer (sp) and use simple green max in it but I can't even seem to get the road salt stains completely out (they go away but sometimes leave a little haze, the carpet is black). I also have an automotive steamer that I use to get the smell out but that is more for posterity than actual function with the salt stains...

What do you guys use/do to get these stains out?

The salt ate away at the dye in the carpet... Kinda like bleaching...

Otherwise you can use a good carpet cleaner and a strong shop vac to clean it up as best you can.

I actually use the older version of the cleaner-picked it up for ten bucks at a garage sale a few years back

bro...i clean the carpet like once a week...if that is the case i will try to re-dye the areas

If you want I can order some heavy duty black rubber matts that are molded to your truck... they are pretty slick...

Foam Away.. its a professional detailer product i get from the Vesco truck for $2.50 a can. It works on just about anything.
