CJMatts 1989 Notchback

Well, having a change of plans. Some of you may have seen but I found a 2000 Saleen Mustang from an auction on here and snatched it up from setonkill.
Im still debating what to do with the whole Saleen stuff. I really want to swap it out for 03-04 Cobra stuff, but from all the badging and plates on it, it seems like a real Saleen. I may just swap out the Hood...

Seems to have been a race car at some point. Had a bolt-in roll bar, already has subframes, and there is a nitrous mount in the trunk. But it was missing the engine, trans, driveshaft, and gas tank! PERFECT!!!! The interior has some stupid stuff painted on the dash that will be getting swapped out, but it is clean!

I already got a new AJE K-member as I kind of want to keep my notch a roller at the moment. Wanted to get a Team Z to work, but Id have to remake the downpipe as well as it snakes thru it. The Notch will stay set up with the AJE for chevys incase anyone is interested.

Current plans are for Team Z Front suspension with Strange Struts. Team Z Rear upper and lower control arms. Weld the Torque boxes up, then swap in my 5.3 and 4l80e with the turbo kit just as it is in the fox. Only differences are that I will be modding my wastegate location for better balance, and adding a BOV. Gonna get the heat hooked up as well!!! It will be nice to have heat and a radio in the toy once again.

I hear ya, I love my notch, but for what I wanted in a fun car right now it just needed too much work. No heat, Id want to paint it, add a stereo, etc. Id have to dump in a ton of money and would end up with it being worth not much more than it is now. The saleen was everthing I needed. I will keep the notch and make it into a racecar down the line. Its already got full suspension and weight taken out of it. Maybe toss in a BBC with a 200 shot and powerglide. Just make a race car out of it. Something for next year

thanks man, i loved the way yours looked at this years rental too. Ill get this thing just as light. they didnt add that much metal vs. the foxes that cant be cut out or replaced. its just nice to start with everything rather than starting with nothing and adding everything back to it
 
I love the new edge body style. If it's a fake salleen then I would have no issues making it a termi clone, but if it's real I'd say leave it as is and just get some 19's for it!!
