Circuit breakers in a 98 Astro Van

A guy I work for is having problems with his Astro van's rear hatch. It did have a pinched wire between the relay and the poping mechanism, but that was repaired. He thinks he tripped the breaker/fuse in working on it. When he hot-wires the relay, it opens just fine, but when using his keyfob, no dice...

Any tips?

Thanks!

May be kinda obvious but the key fob button does work, right? My "unlock" button stopped working the other day. Which kind of defeats the point of keyless entry. Lock, truck, and start still work.

Does he have a button to press in the cabin to pop it? Check to see if that is working. If you need me to I could print up some schmatics (sp?) for the 'stro

Yah, you think you could print the schematics and charts? that'd be sweet, he only has the owner's manual....

I'll ask if there's a button to push in the cabin, I really have no clue if there is or not.

I did, he doesn't have a shop manual for his either..... He has 65 other car manuals, but not one for his own van...

When Hot wiring the relay, hes wiring pin 30 and pin 87 on the relay and it works. This tells you that the Load Side of the circuit is all fine. Your Problem is in the control circuit(pin 86 and pin 85). Check; fuse, relay, switches, and wiring on the control side.
