Chrysler to stop car production?

Heard a rumor that Chrysler will be announcing something similar to what Ford did. Doing away with passenger car production by a later date. Any truth to this?

So pretty much full size cars getting cancelled? Do they even make any other cars? Even Ford was keeping the Mustang.

Fca already did the announcement. Before fords announcement of dumping small cars

Tomorrow the chrysler brand might go away

Ok. That was more in line with what I was trying to say. Even the Pacifica will go away?

I'd think they would save it and just rebrand it a Dodge something, it has been a good seller, more so than the 300 from what I've read.

Ya, that is what FCA told me today as well.

FCA's new 5 year plan will be released tomorrow.

Transportation services, not selling cars.

I'm not really sure what direction the industry is headed and I'm not sure that I like it.

I think if you ask the guys at Uber and Lyft, that is what they will say. And the big 3 for the most part have bought into that because if they don't they will get left behind. But the fact is, most of the people saying that live in cities like LA and New York where owning a car is prohibitive from a cost standpoint. In Boston the parking spaces are worth more than the condos now. Can you imagine someone in Royal Oak saying "I don't need a car to get me to work everyday because a driverless minivan is going to pick me up and drop me off every day." Yea, I don't see that either. Boston or NYC? Definitely.

I think the reality is that this market of 17 million cars per year will come to an end in a few years and never return. To make up for it, the big three want to be in the mobility business.

Well, I'm still keeping the points ignition in all my old cars so when the machines rise up and try to take over I can start the resistance.

The world as we know it is gone. Car makers are going to make PODS to shuttle us around. I blame any parent that has handed their child a mobile device or video game to keep them quiet instead of actually parenting.
