Chevy Techs

Hey guys. I have a Chevy HHR. Again, Im getting bored of the car so Im making some changes to it. This is the first time Ive owned a car for more than a year.

I installed the factory heated seats in it. They were an option in the HHRs.

I installed the HVAC controllers with the heated seats buttons. Now I need a Chevy dealer to program the BCM so the heated seats can be activated.

Anyone a GM techs that already know the process and can do it?

Thanks

I don't think you need a dealer, I think you need a hacker. Usually dealers can't do custom work, they just load what your Vin says to load. Try gen5diy they do stuff like that.

I believe the dealer has to call and get a (VSI number??) They write the new program then the dealer can reflash

I am in the process of doing the same exact thing in my 2008 Sebring convertible. I bought a very nice leather interior with heated seats at the junk yard. I got the dash switch for the heated seats. I was hoping for plug and play but I am not to that point yet. Working on the rear seat removal and removing the 9 years of crap that collected under the seats.

I read multiple threads on the HHR forum and the dealer just has to change the part number for the HVAC controls to the number on the one with the heated seats buttons.
