Chevy ss/v

I think it's just called the Chevy SS. The one you pictured is the Holden SSV. the one you saw was probably a Chevy SS with Holden badges. They should have brought all of Holdens cool care to the US,

I see them every now and then, very nice cars. I heard GM isn't going to sell them after 2016 model year due to the lackluster sales.

i think this is the 14 ss..

As Chevrolet’s flagship sedan, the SS is loaded with features; we think the most important one is under the hood. Its 6.2-liter V-8 sends 415 hp to the rear wheels, and a six-speed manual is now available in addition to the six-speed automatic. Brembo brakes are in place at the front and rear to ensure the SS stops as well as it goes, and magnetic ride control is standard for superlative handling. The exterior styling may be understated, but who cares when you can hit 60 mph in 4.6 seconds?

Well I saw one that's looks identical to the picture I posted but it was all black with black wheels I don't think it's just a ss with different badges I think I heard a supercharger whine when he took off. I tried messing with him with my scat but he didn't want anything to do with it.

I don't think Holden ever sold them here in the states, so it would have had to be imported. pretty unlikely. the bumpers aren't hard to get here though, and either are supercharges for LS motors lol.

I know but the car looked factory to me. I'm probably wrong because I can't find any info about them online. Lol

What color was the one you saw? There's a guy that works at the Belle Tire at 13 and Woodward that has a white G8 with all of the Holden gear on it. Looks really good!

Damn you GM, I soooooooo wanted this!

I totally wanted that too! GM had that thing ready to go when the bankruptcy hit, then they cancelled it. It was 6 months from our shores, they even had US specific lights tooled up.

I saw an early 2000s Maloo UTE at the WWDC 6-7 years ago and about shat myself. It was the only time I've ever seen one in person. I have no idea if it was real or not but it would take a ton of work to turn a GTO into a UTE I would think.

I remember. The guys from the Design building at the Tech Center used to dangle it in my face every chance they got

I don't get why they aren't marketed at all.

Me either. I'd think probably because of it's overly civil appearance and many may get the impression that it caters to old people. Either way, at least we have 2011 and up Caprice PPVs we can get from auctions in lieu of the SS.
