i have a 1983 305 in my chevy truck does anyone no if i can mill the heads .030 for more compression? i heard maybee not to thin casting
 
you could but i dont think it would even be worth the trouble for the very little power you would gain. If you need more compression in it Keith Black makes flat top and domed pistons for those. At that point you might as well go to a 350
 
My buddy milled the heads on his 84 Z28 and it woke the car up pretty good.
I know it can be done.

What did you do with the said 383?? If I might ask
 
In the for sale section???

I asked him last night he milled the heads .30 for his compression bump.
I have no idea if truck heads had any different thikness though.
I doubt it...
