check valve on a fuel system with 2 pumps question

Has anyone used one on their cars that have dual pumps running parallel to each other off their own pick ups from the tank. This would be put after the pump before the Y-block so fuel doesn't fight the other pump and cause it to work overtime, thus eventually killing the pump. Whats your views on this?

I run one pump at all times and the second one turns on at boost. You do need a check valve after the y-block, your thought process is very realistic.
