Ok, I have a 4150 style cheater plate now. looks like monte smith did a few modifications to the nos jetting. What are you guys using for a baseline to get started? I'm looking for 150 shot roughly. Stock bottom end 302 with almost stock head gaskets. Is the "old" jetting chart to rich or is the "new" one to lean?

The new jetting is just squared jets. Run that and see where u are. Most likely it will be rich. They wouldnt advertise a lean tune up

THis has been my past experience. Besides it's better to be a little lean than rich. all you lose is MPH as long as you start witha conservative timing. 6 psi flowing fuel pressure with square jetting should be ok. Take 8 degrees out to start.

Also depends on what his timing is set at. 302 Small blocks like around 32 degrees and with a 150 shot I would not take more than 6 degrees out to start. I have mine set at 32 and when I spray 75 I take nothing out and the car runs great. Every plugs is where it needs to be. So I would and this is just me if set at 32, pull for out and no more than 6 total on a 150 shot.

More out to start with is much much safer. i would rather be 6 under and work up, then be one or two over and hurt parts. These stock short blocks won't tolerate any detonation. SO i always tell people to start safer than expected....which is exatly what i told you saturday at no ET! I'm Roger, the guy who was with Craig!...My small block was happy at 36* on motor. EFI cars like even more.
