Will a overcharging voltage regulator (15.51 at Idle) cause a car's battery to discharge overnight ? The car Is my 84 Mustang GT with a external regulator.

Randy get rid of that stock Ford junk and buy a Powermaster alternator 140 amp. It is a one wire and I have one on the '79 and I put one one on Dave's old 460 car when I had it. All your problems will be solved.

15.5 at idle is bad, it will probably be higher at cruise rpm, and will kill a battery, fix it and check the acid level in your battery, top up with distilled water

I put a new Voltage regulator and posative battery cable on the car and every thing Is back to normal. Charging and no going dead. Thanks for all the Imput.
