what about the front diff? Cant just leave it there, technically you would need spindles and hubs, Plus the computer is gonna go nuts looking for the transfer case
Why?
which part?Sounds like torture.
Wish it was that easy. I just had the truck custom painted flat pearl white. Then if I sold it I would have to find a 6 liter to put in a 2wd truck. Only took me a day I have the front suspension out front and rear diff and the trans. It wasn't that big or a deal.Sell it and buy a 2WD Tahoe of Yukon.
Yeah I see I need those. But I pulled the torsion bar setup out also so I have to get the lower control arms, springs and the upper spring cups and weld them in.you just need 2wd Hubs rest is the same also witht he diff out pulling oil pan is easier
My suggestion would be installing a 4l80e trans..... either that or a 6l80e for the two wheel swap. The 6l80-90e trans will handle the turbo without modifications, the 4l80 most likely will not.
Its a lot of work your proposing.... a heavy vehicle... and your wanting to make it pull hard.
Soon as you get enough power you will experience traction problems, rear axle durability.
Dont get me wrong, sounds like fun. My suggestion would be leave it awd.
dude rich is the king of transmissions im sure he knows what hes talking aboutUmm you think the 6l80e is stronger then the 4l80e? Good luck to get that shifting right....
Go 4l80E all the way. It'll handle it, coupled with a nice 2800-3200 locking stall the truck will be a hoot to drive.

I don't think, I know from direct experience rebuilding both for performance applications..... yes, the 6l80/90 stock can handle 700 to the tire with just a tune.
Even I'm impressed.
