Changes to the coupe

:shake::shake:

sad day. there goes the street car. not so funny car bar:(

Not a sad day at all. If I was planning on leaving it JUST a street car, I sure as hell would have never put an 88mm turbo on it (with nearly no boost in its a death trap on the street and I would never even think of puting it to the floor), nor a parachute or opening up the stock wheel openings to fit a 29.5W at some point. Also, even though I like to drive it on the street here and there, I like running it at the track a hell of a lot more, and being safe there is VERY important to me. Beyond all the aformentioned reasons, I like my license in the unrestricted state it is currently in. I have some will power to keep my foot out of it, but that is only good for so long....therefore I try to limit how much I drive it anyway and going to the track with it, gets me my fix.

LOL..I agree that I do like driving the car more now that I can run pump gas in it...However, from day one I was attempting to build a dual purpose car. However, after seeing how this thing does in traffic....cruises are not in my future. If I want something like that, I would rather go buy a new 2011 mustang and drive it.

Yea, Steve. You really screwed that car up by having Bill weld in that cool funny car cage and adding that window net that fits perfect. Before you added those race car parts I would have driven that car to Florida and back. Now it is more race car than street car.

Seriously, looks great and I can't believe you got the bars and window net installed and painted so fast. Now get that chute mounted and turn the wick up! Then you can try some race fuel and really piss the "street car" crowd off.

Thanks guys. Its getting there. I still have to cut the cable to length, but pretty much done for now.

Damn, you don't waste any time do you Steve? Looks great! Nice to see someone else who is actually concerned about keeping the car safe for the speeds it can run. I see WAY too many cars thrown together with not enough cage for their ET's or just plain NO cage for "street" or NO ET use, and most of those guys have families at home who depend on them to be there. I hate seeing anyone wreck a race car, but to have complete disregard for the safety rules and not have the car up to cert is just ignorant IMO. Nice job.

Thanks Joe!

Got the chute release mounted....Had to fab up this deal since I really did not want to weld a tube to the cage that would later have to be cut off anyway. Plus this way i can adjust the lateral location in the car at a later date if necessary.

That looks great Steve!

Thanks Joe...My painter has been jumping through hoops for me.. knocking this stuff out as soon as I get something done. I made that thing yesterday, went to his shop this morning, I cleaned it up, applied putty and sanded it to get it ready for paint, he primed and painted it around noon, and I picked it up this evening. can't ask for much more from him..LOL

very nice!...any chance off seeing a few more pics of new cage work from inside the vehicle?
