AS many of you know I have made the decision to change to an automatic (TH400). Well, some of the parts have finally began to show up and I will be posting on here and my website with the details of the project.

The first piece to show up was the shifter! (Click the links to enlarge the pics)

Good luck with the project Steve; I'm sure it will be done right. You'll have no more trans breakage concerns now!

I love that shifter... Especially after the guy with the XLR 10.5 car put it in his...

Yeah, its a pretty killer piece. Hutch is building my trans and he recommended this shifter as his #1 choice, so I figured I would do what he thinks is best.

daveg has a turbo 400 for sale! if you are still looking for one.

Thanks for looking out, but I have already ordered one from Hutch, and to be honest, I don't think I would buy one from anyone else. Plus this is a lighten TH400 so my little 347 can turn it for the time being :)

Merry Christmas to Me!!!

A new bullet is in the works as well!!!!

Got a deal I just could not pass up.

Not sure of the exact path for engine yet, but it will either be an inline valve setup with a little N2O to start and then a 91mm turbo.

Or

A canted valve setup with a set of Yates heads, 14 - 15:1 compression, and a bunch of RPM.

I will be leaning toward the turbo setup but who knows.

well we have done a lot of thinking and had several conversations with some very helpful individuals to make the decision on the direction the new engine will take and all I will say for now is it will be getting a turbo ;)

Dan if you read this....thanks! and I will be picking your brain some more!

Pistons have been ordered!!!

Custom dish pistons from Ross
4.130" bore
21.5cc Dish
Gas ported
Coated
Tapered tool steel pins

Got a real fancy ring pack to go with them too!

I should have some pics of this crap in the next few weeks.

Setup should be good for 1000 HP with 16 - 18 lbs of boost, and componentwise safe for 25-28 lbs when set on kill, yet still run on pump gas with 7-8 lbs on the street.

:jawdrop: thats amazing!! i hope that one day i can build me a car as badass as yours!! great work and thanks for keeping us slow car owning guys updated!!!

Haha!!! Dave, trust me if it weren't for all of the cards falling into place when they did, this would not be happening. It should be a pretty cool street car ;) Lots of stuff to make fit, but the guy's building the turbo setup definately know their stuff, and that part of it should be pretty easy.

BTW, thanks for the compliment!!

Good luck with this Steve, it will be very sweet when you are done. Getting pistons the ordered is a big step considering the time it can take to get 'em in your hands.

ps, will try you this weekend on the hangers.

how is this done, does someone refab these chevy trans to fit the ford block, whats involved to making this swap?

The bell is cut off the trans and a J.W. adapter bell is bolted on. You'll need a crossmember, custom drive shaft, flex-plate that bolts to a SBF and accepts a chevy converter (keeps you from having a bastard chevy splined converter with a ford bolt pattern made), trans blanket (unless you intend on modifying the floor to accept a shield), custom or flexible dipstick as there is limited room, and shifter. If you don't have cooler you'll need that, lines, and fittings as well.
