Ceramic Coating opinions

I saw this and was thinking about it for my HellCat since it's pitch black. Has anyone else ever had this done, or have any information about it? Who around here dose it?

I got a guy.

Was just telling svtsinr

He does riddler cars for hutton and foose.

Not cheap but no one better. Literally

And he had a scat pack. His son works for Chrysler

I’m going to do my own. He gave me a older kit that uses a year old technology.

I might fuck it up. But I’m going to start on my 2500 Raj F250 special

Do you guys know what it consists of? Is it like a wax they put on, or is it like a clear coat, spray in a booth thing?

I have it on one car. Cquartz Finest is the brand. Comes in a little bottle with an eye dropper, applied with a sponge.

Usually I don't do it because it's hard to spend that much money on something that size that doesn't get you super, duper high, but it does work. Regardless of all the internet arguing between people that like one brand or another, at the end of the day, it makes getting bugs and road grime off your car without leaving residual damage much, much easier. I was driving around in 100* heat through mountain valleys with bugs splattered on my fascia this summer. Same night, shit sprays right off without much work.

Good if you have clear bra too. Will prolong the life. I did not have it on another car that got wasted by 10 days of bugs on a road trip and the clear bra was basically permanently etched with bug guts everywhere.

Thanks that helps a lot. I was thinking about the clear bra. There was a guy that spent $5700 on this ceramic coating and wheel coatings. That's crazy. For $5700 I'd put a whipple charger on it.

Uh, yeah, not sure how the hell you'd spend $5700 on coating. Unless they coated him too.

FWIW Marc aka AutoLavish works out of our building and like every third car is a Hellcat or Charger/Challenger of some kind. Somehow it's "his deal."

My guy knows mark too. It’s easy to get up near $6k and higher.
He’s done the underside of cars as well.

No way can just coating itself cost $6k. Maybe if you're talking some super heavy paint correction + coating the whole car + wheels + a bunch of other stuff. Full car CQuartz Professional full car is ~$1500. Finest Reserve a couple hundred more. More if you have a land yacht.

No.
Coating and labor

Top
Bottom of car,
Frame rails
Jambs
Wheels inside and out
Wheel wheels.

Every single part of a million dollar car. Yes. $6k and higher.

Serious riddler cars.

And he’s done brand new crew cab duallys and trailers for certain customers.

Hell a member here was just quoted $40k to repaint a LOW mile CLEAN 80s G body.

Now THATS ridiculous

Ok well if you're talking ceramic coating every single surface of every single panel of every single part of the car inside and out top and bottom, that does NOT qualify as "easy to get to" or represent what most consumers would experience. I would say that represents less than of 0.0001% of all ceramic coating applications.

For a car that's garaged and doesn't see weather, I'd just pick your favorite sealant or wax and call it good. The reason ceramic coatings and other coatings are expensive from a detailer is due to the paint correction that's needed before application. So the majority of the cost is labor on compounding and polishing. As pictured above, some coatings require baking with IR lamps. Coatings are the longest lasting option in regards to paint protection.

Btw I assumed that this car is not a daily. It may see weather, but the above is just my opinion.

My car has been caught in the rain twice and washed about 5 times since new. It has a few water spots on it, but heavy correction probably doesn't apply. I like the depth of the paint after the coatings applied.

Give Dave Fermani a call at Sportiva Auto Salon in Troy 313-815-9460. He is one of the best in the business and based in Michigan.

He's well known in the detail world as well. Didn't know he was in MI, didn't he work for 3D?

Yes, he is an awesome detailer and a good person. I used to work with him over 20 years ago doing detailing.
