Cement repair - hydraulic lifting

I seem to remember a thread awhile back about hydraulic lifting cement repair. For anyone that's gotten it done, how has it held up?

Also, does someone here do it or have a recommendation? The driveway is spotty in a couple of places and I have 2 sidewalk squares needing leveling. Thanks!

Raise-It-Rite did a bunch of my driveway slabs and two years later it hasn't moved a bit. I'm very happy.

Just had them out to look at some other spots last week.

It works, but don't expect miracles. I had a few slabs lifted last year before winter. 2 are still good, or good enough... 1 has sunk again. Truth be told, you need to figure out the root cause of why they sunk in the first place and address that before, or while, you're getting the slabs lifted.

I also thought it was pretty expensive vs. the amount of work done.

I wouldn't recommend against the process, but just go in with practical expectations. It may have bought me a few more years before I need to replace the driveway, but it's not going to save me from having to do that in the near future.

I used Concrete Levelers Inc. Most of these places have a minimum trip spend... so if you only need 1 or 2 slabs lifted, it's going to be expensive.

Owners name is tony.. Tell him Sal with Luigi's sent you.
Forget about any concrete work this year... there's a shortage of St. Mary's cement powder.. We own 2 batch plants and we can barley get concrete for our own jobs.
Rumor is the Chinese is buying ALOT of material out of the US/Canada

My driveway should be going in this month at my new house. Is this shortage going to be a problem?

Raise-It-Rite did a shitload of work at my place for under $1000. To remove and replace what they did would have easily cost quadruple that amount.

I talked to Tony last week and they have something like a $300 or $350 minimum charge now.

Is it like having new concrete...no. Is it significantly less expensive and will buy you a couple years...absolutely. I believe they guarantee their work for two years if I recall correctly. Again, I was very happy with their work and gladly recommend them.

Nice! Seems like a good option for what I'm looking to do.

I called Creative Concrete Raising this afternoon and have them coming out for a quote. I'll give Raise-It Rite a call for a quote after these guys give me a quote.

To jack either 5 or 6 slabs of my driveway up a good 3 inches, and float a small transition was between $700-$800 from Raise It Right. That was my quote a while back. I have not gotten off my wallet yet though.

That's pretty reasonable. Hoping I get a call about it today, then I can give Raise-it Rite a call. The first place told me 1-3 days for a quote. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow, I'll just call Raise-it Rite.

I'll try and post up a pic tonight. I just have a couple of cracks and settling near the attached garage. I'm sick of smashing the snow blower into the cracks each time I do the snow.

Just had Raise-It-Rite raise four slabs along one side of my house (ran the entire length). They brought everything up about one full brick and filled a void beneath where it was allowing water to weep into the basement during really heavy rain storms (the water would pool next to the house and then travel down along the foundation and then get in by the chimney cleanout). Only cost me $350 and again, it's guaranteed for two years.

Again, one more vote for Tony and his crew.

FYI- Tony was offline a bit from the 9th thru the 13th for his daughter's wedding if you tried to reach him and couldn't.

Thanks for following up!

Thanks for the follow-up! The first place never showed up or called. Apparently they're starving for work......

I'll call Raise-it this afternoon here.

when I was a service manger for a new home developer I used this process all the time
#1 cost less that redoing cement
#2 didn't affect landscaping or sprinkler systems like replacing the cement would
#3 actually helped lock in driveways that seemed to keep moving

wish I still had the pictures of when I had the company raise a slab family room floor that had sunk it was amazing to watch
