Cell phone insurance

I have my cell service through AT&T with my telephone. When I got this phone, I got it through the insurance plan they offered when I bought the original phone. The replacement phone did not cost me anything. I received a letter in the mail, from the company that "administers" the insurance plan, that said as of July 1, 2008, they were amending the insurance plan. Effective that date, there was a minimum $50 "deductible(copay)" up to a maximum $125.

Is this insurance worth it? :popcorn:

I traded up to a blackberry curve, and was told insurance is not available on blackberries:bs:
for $50, you can get a new phone by going in and "renewing" your contract, even if its not expired yet

It really depends how expensive the phone is and how likely you are to need a replacement. A friend of mine, for example, owns a window washing company. He's been through three phones in the last year.. So for folks like him insurance is well worth it.

exception upgrade:

eligible for it after a minimum of six month's of service.

Insurance :thumbup:

Phone insurance is a waste of money, after the monthly premium, and the deductible, youve paid more than the phone cost. These insurances are as bad as the 'extended' warrenty sold with some used cars.

I love my TEP with Sprint. I've been through 5 Blackberry Pearl 8130's in the last 8 months, all covered though TEP free of charge, other than the $7/month charge, no deductable as long as I go through a Sprint store and they find there is a problem with the phone. With the Blackberry's, you also get a brand new phone, and not a refurb and Sprint is also NOT allowed to fix them; All they can do is reload the operating system on it.

Really? The cost of a new Dare is 400 without a contract.

Let's break this down really quick

$400.00<phone>-$50.00<deductible>=$350

$350.00/$5.00=70<---number of months it would take to equal out to the cost of the phone

Yeah it's a waste of money :rolleyes:

I'm not even going to get started on the extended warranty thing.

Waste of money.

Look up. :rolleyes:
