One article stated the powertrain is about 60% of the revenue scrap yards get from scrapping cars. That seems like a big loss to me.

Wow, still hard to watch a perfectly good car get destroyed. My dad's yard in NY took in a bunch of cars. At least the interiors and exterior panels are useful to them. The engine's are toast and will probably just be crushed with the cars/trucks.
