Cash for clunkers list.

I love my 98 explorer, you wont see me clunking it.

Why not? With this program you can buy a new
car and the government (your neighbors) help
pay a large portion of the bill.

It's a great first step towards a socialistic society.

First step? This country has had socialist tendencies for years.

Explorers are gonna be collectors items

Went in today to see if i could qualify trading in the Caprice on a G8.. They can't do it due to the G8's poor fuel mileage. Even though i didn't want a V6 G8 they checked and that didn't qualify either. Missed it by 1mpg :(

maybe now the big 3 realize they need to do something different and will start making quality cars that last... like honda, toyota, ect..

that sucks. what are they rated at 24? I bet they get better than that
I think my TA was rated at 25 but got over 30-31 alot

if anything toyota is slipping compared to ford and gm.. they are no longer way better like they were in the 80's-90's but it will take a while for people to forget about thier quad4 grand am, 2.7l intrepid or windstar

Sorry folks, this is simply wrong...

C4C.......1986 GT with 30,000 miles !!!

"I took those pictures and posted them originally. I've looked into it further. I've been told it was traded in on a Prius, and I've also been told it was an original 30k mile car. Not 130k, but an actual 30k mile car, Carfax verified. It was picked up last night by the scrap yard. I've found it, and have secured "dibs" on the full set of seats. They are holding them for me and I will be heading out early in the morning to get them and anything else that I can't bear let go to an unpurist. I will take more pictures while I'm there and post them up.

Don't get me wrong, I will get excited to have such a nice set of seats in my Capri, but I still don't feel this is worth it. It was a very nice car and deserved far better."

Why one Earth would this asshole do that? He could have gotten some good money for that car and someone could be enjoying it and/or preserving it. :shake:

that is totally on the db dealer! They dont have to give you the 4500 per CFC.. they could have given the person 4500 on a straight trade in and then flipped the car over to the used lot, made a buck and sold the car to a collector and even just someone off the street who needed a decent car.... my bud works at a ford dealer and they just did that on a Grand Cherokee... super clean, decent miles on the odo and made 500 on the used lot.

Maybe, but how much was that Mustang really worth? more than $4,500?
