I have a 350 in my 69 chevelle. 4 bolt main. It has been bored .030 over has a mild cam, edelbrock performer rpm intake. It has corvette 194 heads that have been ported and polished. 10:1 compression. I also have a Proform HEI setup. The car has a turbo 400 trans with a 3000 stall converter and a 3.73 rear gear. My crappy edelbrock 750 carb is not working properly and have been told by many people and I agree that I should get a Holley 750cfm carb. What kind of Holley should I get?(model # /Part #) I know I want and need a 750cfm carb. Also should I consider getting a Demon or any other kind?? And where is a good place to buy one as I don’t really want to spend a arm and a leg but fear I might have to on this one.

Thank you

I honestly think you would be happy with a Holley 650 with Manual Secondaries for Street use. A 750 right now may be a bit much but would be nice insurance if you decide down the road to go a bit more radical with more HP.

750 vacum secondary would be perfect. Your not gunna see much if an difference in economy with the 650 over the 750 but there will be one with performance, plus room to grow alil an not have to sepnd more money on another carb.

Stay away from demon carbs there junk

How high are you spinning the thing? If youre keeping it under 5500-6000, youre probably best off with a 650

X2, going overkill he wont be happy with any brand carb. Get what is best suited for your current setup. Much easier to dial it in also.

That's harsh
Just the truth...
I call it as I see it. No harm meant.
Everyone thinks only the Holy Grail of carbs(Holley) is the end all be all answer.
Not!!!
In NHRA Super Stock you must run what was OEM.

Ever see the bumpers being dragged in SS Class??? :headscrat

I have had the car tuned mulitple times and everyone has said the same thing that they are not getting any response from the carb. cant get it to go lien or rich. plus the idle keeps going up and down. vacume has been checked many times. timing is at 17 inital and 33 at full.

Lots of things will make the idle go up and down.
Dist. Weights
Vac leak
PCV plugged
Blown Head Gasket
Rockers too tight
Int Dial on the Cam install.
Carb float setting
etc...

If your not getting a signal off the carb it is the acc pump or @WOT metering rods.
Watch the Inches of Hg. This is more important then RPM in your app.
Sorry I can't be more of a hands on help.

Here is a suggestion...call Patrick at Pro Systems...he will build you one and you will be extremely happy.

Is Marv still there, he totally took care of me at QF. Had have my carb for almost 3 years now so have had no need for anything new from them.
Marv is the Proprietor/Founder/Owner....Ex Holley Engineering Guru.
