can somebody identify this engine?

its laying outside behind our shop. think its a pontiac 301 but can't tell. all casting numbers are hard to read. definitely out of a stolen car, VIN is gone, has been sitting at least 15 years.

says GM10 on the front of the block and 7 79 DN 0069 10000706

So I assume its a '79.

The head says 0079 or C079 and the exhaust manifold says 326707-6

The exhaust manifold looks like the 301 turbo manifold, but I'm not sure. We are thinking about picking it up and taking it apart or scrapping it. What do you guys think?

the lifter valley has a cover on it, which stays under the IM.

agreed, pontiac, and i have only seen that heater outlet on the turbo 301s, N/A engines had strait outlets
