Can Anyone order a Briggs and Stratton Engine for my Generator?

Does anyone work at a small engine place, or shop that can get replacement Briggs Engines?

It is a Series 900 Horiz Shaft Engine
6 HP - Tapered Crank End with 5/16-24 tap

Part Number - 122012-0526-B8

I would rather order it from someone here than from Briggs...

Checked out the Harbor Freight engine and I couldn't find one with a tapered shaft like the Briggs one has.

Long story short...My brother-in-Law was storing his brand new generator at my house that has only been used once about 3 years ago. The power went out at my house, so I fired up his generator and the engine blew up about 10 minutes later. Hole in the block...

I want to replace it with an original equipment Briggs Engine...

Briggs may cover it under warranty if it has that few of hours on it.

Yeah, I tried the warranty thing already....It is 4 years old...Too old for Briggs to cover it. But, they gave me the replacement part number

maybe try repairclinicdotcom. Not sure if they sell complete engines or not, but they might be able to get you one. They are off Michigan Ave...huge place with lots of parts at good prices.

the oil MUST be changed every 40 hours

synthetic oil is best

turn fuel off when not in use (floods) fills crankcase with gas
