I was ordered to return to my vehicle and be issued a improper passing ticket. I went around a few cars at an intersection a half mile back and . I was starting to unload some stuff from my truck. When the officer pulled up demanding that I get back in my vehicle.

I plan on fighting the ticket just wanted to know if an officer can make you get in your vehicle and issue a ticket if a person already arrived at their destination, was out of the vehicle, and the infraction to place in a different area.

Seriously? You think that if you get to your destination before being stopped that it mitigates or exonerates you from punishment?
I'm gonna rob a bank and as long as I get home without being stopped I'm safe right!

Seriously tho, the cop was in the right. Did you deserve the ticket... probably not. but the law is the law, if you break it-make sure you are prepared for the penalty.
 
So I just went to court for this today and all charges were dropped except improper passing. Cop went from saying it is illegal to pass on the right to saying I cut cars off and turn down the next residental.The street was one lane with enough room for 2 cars to travel in the same direction. I brought a copy of the traffic law stating you can pass on the right in several instances with only exceptions being: running another vehicle off the road, driving over the sidewalk or curve to pass on the right, or an instance where a car is parked in the right lane that was to be used to pass.

After I showed the magistrate my proof and pics of the area, the officer then said I cut off cars and turned down a residential street. The magistrate then started saying the area was too dangerous to pass and found me responsible and I was issued a ticket for improper passing. I am appealing the charge because I think I have everything I need to beat the case but since I was nervous I didn't get everything I wanted to say out.

If anyone have any advice for me for this next court date I would appreciate it. I can email everything that I plan to present to judge this next time if I confuse anyone trying to explain this.
 
Should have told him that you have a CPL, are carrying, and have no intention of taking orders from a punk with a badge.

Good luck and keep fighting the good fight.

I had a run in with a State Trooper yesterday. He was a complete asshole, I was being polite too. There was an accident on an entrance ramp, people were turning round and going back. I was the 5-6th car in line. After the ones in front of me spun around and headed the wrong way I pulled up and asked if I could do the same without getting in trouble, he proceeded to bitch at me because my dealer plate was in the front window. I then put it in the back window, but it wasn't good enough for him, I had to put on the car. After all that he said "go ahead, but if you get into and accident or get pulled over by another officer it's not my problem".

I was blown away at what a dick he was, I was very polite the entire time. I said "Nevermind, I'll just fucking sit here an do nothing LIKE YOU".

Other than being irritated I got pulled over, I stayed calm. Even tried to shake his and tell him good luck in court. His response "I don't shake hands''. Every dickheaded police officer I ran into has always been a lot shorter than me. Ive been pulled over for fooling around in my stangs got pulled and let go cause they like the car.

I'm going to prepare my statement beforehand so I know I'll get my case across

You should call the msp post and make a complaint. The entire conversation should be taped. If he was that big of a penis then they should discipline him.

Naw, I'll chalk it up to him having a bad day. I should have just turned around like everyone else, but my luck there would have been one waiting for people to give them tickets.
