Anyone have experience with installing them? on mustang gt SOHC motor that is. Im thinking about getting a set of mild street N/A cams, found a great deal on a set of billet ones so im tryin to decide wether i should get the cams or not. I have seen they make a special cam changing tool for the mod motor that you slip down inside the timing cover and it keeps the chain tensioned while you swap the cams. any info or input is appreciated!

thanks,
Ryan

here is what the guy selling them had to say:

"Enclosed are the requested pictures of the SHM Stage 1 Billet Cams. These came out of my 97 GT with SVO 2V heads, used during the break in process of the car and a few dyno runs. Very nice cams, mild idle and good power. I switched to stage III VT blower cams w/ new springs as my car is oriented for drag racing. Contact me if have any additional questions."

what you guys think? worth it? and would they be good when i spray my car 125?

If you did some reasearch on them with the right combo and cam you can make some good power, a member at corral just made like 65whp just with cams and a polish of the heads nothing fancy no cnc work or opening just smotthing the casting in the bowl and around the pockets.

I don't know about those SHM camshafts. I would personally prefer a comp cam or similar quality camshaft. the other thing is that MOD motors don't really benefit from camshafts becuase they don't have the displacement or the headflow with stock heads/displacement to really make use of performance oriented camshafts at least not the 2v variety. Its alot of exspense and screwing around for a very minimal gain. If you had a 4v motor it might be worth investigating.

Yeah true 2v heads dont flow so great, if I were you and you own a buisness. I would not install any shm camshaft in a customer car I have read about 25 cases alone that they are causing cooling problems and quite a few were they were grond off center.

SHM quality is to be questioned. Thats about as agressive as I like to get. Caveat Empor. Now if a product is pure junk I don't mind saying so but I knew someone once who was fiarly high up there at one point who siad to watch out so I have always passed it on.

Thank you everyone for your input, i am going to hold out on doin any cam work, the motor in my car is practicly new so i will just do my wet kit and a tune and be happy with it for a little while. I'm going to take the money i was going to spend on the cams and buy my cobra front brake kit.

thanks,
Ryan

it is true the 2v heads suck and don't flow shit but definately instalin some cams will wake up the engine especially getting them valves open you wil pick up a good amount of cfm getting them valves opened up i would agree with http://www.modulardepot.com/product_info.php?products_id=31 the duration number may seem high but having a 113 lobe separation will make it drivable and still give good power we have cnc'd heads also at livernois for good price

I'll be getting rid of my VT Stage II n/a's very soon. If you want a great set of cams that absolutely love the giggle gas, these are the cams you want.

I'll be swapping them out for VT Stage III blower cams.

$400 takes them home.
