I have a c4 with a brand new coan converter, billit servo, full rev man valve body and complete brand new rebuild, put it in and adjusted my shifter cable, put it on stands to go through the gears and all is well till it goes into third and it locks up as if its in park. Any ideas what is going on in there? Thanks, Bill

Take the cable off & make sure its in third. If thats not it drop the pan check & make sure the valvebody is in correctly.

Yeah it clicked right into 3rd and the cable was lined up perfect with the linkage in every gear. I think I'll have to take the whole car to the shop that built it and see what they think. It did this before right when I put it in, but I drove it down the block, when it went into third it wanted to stop but i pushed it and ended up loosing 3rd and reverse, the shop pulled it apart again and the clutches for 3rd were fried. I bought this trans from a guy on here earlier this year and it was wasted then, the only things that were ok was the planetaries, servo, and vavle body. The converter and clutches drums and bands were all shredded and broke(5 runs on a fresh rebuild he said) So I had them replace and rebuild everything, and had a new coan converter built and this is what its doing :(

has anyone heard if there is any holes that need to be drilled in the drum? Ive heard that turbo400s need that to work when they are built

The second gear band was too tight not allowing 2nd to release when It shifted to 3rd, back out the adjuster 2 turns and its working great. Big Thanks to Lou at Accurate transmission in bellville for the help.
