C4 input shaft

I need to swap out my torque converter and was thinking about changing to a hardened input shaft. Is the input shaft floating or is it retained in some way? Any one replaced thiers?

grab it an pull, it will come out.. they stick a lil. You don't have to take anything off there just a friction fit.

make sure you get the right one when you order the hardend one there is a 24 spline an a 26 spline I think.

Eyeball this.....

It looks like less parts then the t-5 kits but I still think I need a video to throw one together. Rebuilding the trans will make a good winter project because I'm not missing anymore track time.
