It's a cool car but not worth the pricetag AT ALL. Even if I had a billion dollars, I wouldn't buy one but that's just me. For less than a 1/4 of what that car costs, I can design and build a one-off car that spanks that car in every way.

16-cylinders, nearly 500 cubes, and four-turbos and only 1000 hp...talk about INEFFICIENT!

Arnt they running like 9psi on those things to, crank that up and see what happens

The Veyron is an unflappable performance machine. As daily-driver civilized as an S-Class, as coddling as a Phantom, and infinitely faster than a McLaren F1.
For 1/4 the price, I can build up ANYTHING. Vette, camaro, yugo, doesn't matter...

If I wanted to hang to 200 mph with it, I could have. But he'd be so far back at 160 I probably would have thought he broke down or stopped at starbucks or something.

That car runs on pump gas, has a/c, could drive from hear to cali with no worries and be comfortable
My car hooked awesome on the street...140 trap-speeds are nada for "1000 hp."

It better be able to do all that stuff and more for 1.7 million dollars! Are you guys on crack? 1.7 MILLION!!!!!!! It should do EVERYTHING for that price.

seriously. 1000 hp is awesome, but it has a smooth powerband, not 3400+ like a drag car does. It's very tame till you put your foot to it, and that's awesome. I can make 1000hp with a merlin block, brodix heads, and loads of boost, but that does it and it's reliable and streetable. oh, and it can handle.
You can make 1000 hp with a merlin block, brodix heads, and a naturally aspirated PUMP GAS big block...and it'd be just as streetable and still spank that 16-cylinder quad-turbo TURD. For 1/1000000th the price. Not like anyone on here is going to buy one anyways...

And you will still be in a Vette, Camaro, yugo...and it won't matter. I can garauntee there will never be a time on planet earth anyone in a Veyron will ever care if someone builds an LS1 that beats it in a straight line.

I'm sorry but that's a huge load of crap :laugh: Oh wait, yeah you're right, there are soooo many 1000hp N/A big blocks running around that are as quiet as an S-Class inside and drive smoother than a Lexus...

Have you ever driven one? You're just going by what they say in magazines which are always true right? Nothing ever exaggerated in those things I forgot...

I would be impressed with it if it did all those things for under 250 grand or something...but it says well over a million (the places I looked said 1.7 million) so it's not impressive AT ALL.

I could care less what some moron who spends 1+ million on a car thinks of anything I do, let alone what car I choose to modify and what not...so what's the point of the car again? If it's simply a status symbol like you suggest, I think it fails at that too because for that much money, you can find a lot better ways to show that you like to waste money...maybe a nice yacht or a summer house in Puerto Rico or something.

There will never be a time on planet earth that anyone will think someone that drives a veyron is better than someone driving anything else...maybe you think buying some expensive pos proves something but I will beg to differ...even when I have that kinda coin to throw around, you won't see me wasting it on something like that. It just serves no purpose over a ton of the other cars that are out there and costs a ton more.

So what is the car's purpose again? You say it's not to beat anyone in a straight line cuz it can't (and cost 1000x more), it's not to beat anyone in the curves because it will probably get smoked by a modded z06 (and cost 1000x more), and it doesn't look nearly as good as most Ferraris, Lambos, S7's, etc (and costs a TON more).

I can tell you one thing though, even if what every first hand impression I've ever seen is only half true, there's still no way in hell there is ANY 1000hp N/A big block running around that's as smooth as that car is.

You're getting totally worked up here for nothing :laugh: If you can't understand why a ground-up supercar that goes 253 mph is more impressive than a tarted-up F-bod, I can't help you. There's not a stock/fully-warrantied car on the planet, nor has there EVER been, that can touch that car in a straight line. A modded Z06 can go down to an modded f-bod, Chevy needs to cancel that thing too. In fact, cancel all Ferraris and Lambos, as neither of those are particularly fast. Only notchback foxbodies and ls1 fbods!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to convince Piaget to give up because I found a bad ass Timex that keeps time just as good...

blah blah blah...I have a problem with my Bugatti let me take it to my local bugatti dealer to get fixed...do you realize how retarded you sound? If you can afford a 1.7 million dollar car, you probably could care less if it has a warranty...that's just funny.

Let's compare it to cars with warranties now...who cares...let's compare it to reality which is if that over-priced land yacht pulls up beside me, he's going to go home with his feelings hurt by a car that costs nothing compared to it...and I could still afford to have 10 other better looking exotics sitting home in my garage and still have $ leftover.
