Bugatti Veyron Launch

That car is insane. I can't imagine the drivetrain can handle much more than stock power, but who needs more than 1000hp in an exotic?

notice i said "exotic" i had "street car" typed...but around here, people seem to think that if it's on the street, it's a street car.
 
That video seems a little fishy to me...It seems to have a little something done to it...The sound doesn't seem to match the video. idk maybe its just my computer being slow but with that aside...that car is effing BAD!

I don't think it's sped up, and even if it is, it's still pretty close to what it would really look like. That car is so fast, it's not even worth comparing with other "Fast" cars.

I've been 200+mph and I can't even begin to imagine what 253mph in a street car feels like. That's what makes it so crazy. Motor Trend took it to an airstrip, put a tard behind the wheel and ran a 10.4@140, you can basically crush 200mph anytime the road straightens, and it's probably the most luxurious car ever and totally civilized. I think I'm gonna run to starbucks, and oh yeah, if a dedicated drag car on slicks with a cage tries to race me, chances are I'll whip his ass... :laugh: (and if anything tries to race it from a roll it's over)

I would loooooooove to get a ride in one someday. I was at the Lambo dealer talking to the GSM and he said 4 people had ordered one through them :icon_eek: Wonder what high rollers in town were throwing down 1 mil + for a car...

I would have spanked that car from a roll, from a stop, anything and that's with a stock ls1 and boost no fancy 16 cylinder engine and four turbos and what not...and mine wasn't even a dedicated drag car...I had it out as much as my time-alotted and there are tons of other street car out there that could spank it...and how priceless would that be to spank a million dollar (places claim the car has a 1.7 mil market value) car with owners that think they are kings of the road!

It's a cool car but not worth the pricetag AT ALL. Even if I had a billion dollars, I wouldn't buy one but that's just me. For less than a 1/4 of what that car costs, I can design and build a one-off car that spanks that car in every way.

16-cylinders, nearly 500 cubes, and four-turbos and only 1000 hp...talk about INEFFICIENT!

all true...but it has a warranty.

seriously. 1000 hp is awesome, but it has a smooth powerband, not 3400+ like a drag car does. It's very tame till you put your foot to it, and that's awesome. I can make 1000hp with a merlin block, brodix heads, and loads of boost, but that does it and it's reliable and streetable. oh, and it can handle.

Riiiiiight. :laugh:

I'm sure you can build a faster street car. But at the end of the day, you'd have a built up Camaro (or whatever).

The Veyron is an unflappable performance machine. As daily-driver civilized as an S-Class, as coddling as a Phantom, and infinitely faster than a McLaren F1.
 
your twin ls1 might be faster to 150 at the track, but I bet you can't hang after that. I also doubt that you could hang on the street due to traction.
That car runs on pump gas, has a/c, could drive from hear to cali with no worries and be comfortable
