Brock Lesnar

My god are those guys paid poorly! Dana White must be a multi-billionare if that is all he is paying the fighters.

x20000000. I agree. They get paid poorly and they don't get medical. If a guy gets paid $10,000 but breaks his leg kicking someone in the shin...his hospital bills are his own responsibility. UFC stepped up and helped Brock Lesnar when he was on his death bed with the intestinal problems, but that's it.

That's not true at all. If you get injured in a fight they cover it, and the fighters are even covered for training injuries now. It's not health insurance in the way of if you got cancer or something like that but they do cover certain things.

You're right. I've been out of it for a while, I used to watch a ton of these from 2006-2009ish, but have lost interest. It's only fair they're covered, now that this business is making some serious money.

I'm pretty sure that before that outside of the ring coverage, they had to provide in-ring coverage to even get licensed or sanction (and even that was depending on the state)

I think so too. I found a better article about it that explains more.

And Frank Trigg was quoted in it: "During fight night, we've always had that protection," said longtime veteran Frank Trigg on Monday's edition of The MMA Hour. "It's the eight, 10, 12 weeks before that you always have the problem with. You get hit in the eye and get stitches, you have to pay for it out of pocket. So it's good, I'm glad it came along."
