mustang manual conversion brake kit put a brake pressure switch in the front line and the only way brake lights come on is if i hit the pedal real hard whtch tht almost puts me through the windshield any one got any ideal would help thanks

Tps switch wired at brake pedal to come on after a certain travel point... you could use a GM setup as well.

Don't use a pressure switch for your lights . Use a regular push button switch off the pedal, may have to make a mount for it

^ explained it for me.

Get a brake light switch from an old ford truck, or gm G body car without cruise. Make a bracket for it to sit above pedal. WHen pedal pushed plunger comes out lights go on.

EDIT: I believe Reiko has a switch people commonly use for this.

Why not use the stock pedal switch?

i actually tried to use my stock one but NO way to get it to work without grinding on the master cyl rod...which I didnt want to do
This.

THe way they make most aftermarket rods the light switch is stuck on, unless you remove some material from the back of the rod. I've done it and it works, it's just easier to make a simple L bracket and use an adjustable switch at the pedal. That way the wiring stays inside, and there's no intrusive fittings and blocks in the brake lines. Not saying they are bad, just an average of physics. THe more fitting and adapters, the more possibilities of leakage.

LOL nope I'm not in the habbit of taking pictures. The one i ground the rod on went to florida (wasn't my idea to grind it), and the ones i put the switches on are no longer in the original owners posetions.

Don't get me wrong, the pressure switch works, i just prefer the on/off switch. So don't take any of my comments as a shot at what you or anybody did. I'm just one of those guys who likes doing things a certain way. Just adding my past experience here and .02~!
