Boss 9 aka Shotgun Motor

I remember 10 or 15 years ago going to the Columbus Ford swap meet and seeing boss9's and SHOC's all over the place. Now, You'd be hard pressed to find anything except the occasional side oiler. They have nothing but foxbody parts. :Yawn: I want to see the good shit Again! I can get a 87 gt front bumper cover anywhere!
 
Try Total Performance over on Groesbeck. Guy's really into the old stuff. He has a boat and a few cars w/ 427 SOHC motors in them so he my have or know where to get some of those parts you're looking for. Good luck. Those motors are badass!
 
John Vermeersch owns Total Performance i worked for him for 12 years he has all the parts to build a few Boss 9s but he wont sell the stuff he just collects it. Allen Root used to make Boss heads that would bolt onto a 460 or 429 block but htey have been out of bussiness for years. Real Boss heads will bolt onto a non boss block but the block doesn't have the proper oil drain backs or water pasages and will cause an overheating problem.
