i need a little guidance......

i can get a Vortech S-trim for $1450 shipped

here is a email from the seller

,Everything is includd but the FMU and BTM. I didnt't get those because I never use them since they are just a band aid. The only thing that is missing is the one coupler but I am using a black on of another project that is a little to big but works. But yes everything will bolt up since everything is on the car now. THe person I bought it from said he had it rebuilt about 500 miles before he sold it to me and I put around 300 since I bought it. I have no way of varifying the mileage that he put on though. IT does run great and makes the 8 lbs of boost. Also one thing you will need is the fitting for the oil pan since mine isnt coming out.

or a Paxton Novi 1000 for $1500 shipped. here is sellers description

I have a Novi 1000 complete kit for sale including other pullies up to 15 lbs. it only has about 500 hundred miles on it and has only been @ 5-6 psi since I bought it brand new I want $1500 for all and come with fmu and 265 svt in tank pump, 2 different blow off valves and 2 discharge tubes so if you did not want to run the bov you dont have to pm me with any ?'s

isnt the S trim a more capable blower?

what would you do? its a total street car, not a DD, but not a racecar. stock 92 drivetrain, i have a GT-40 intake that will go on at the same time.

thanks for any guidance :_slide_:

The S-trim is a much better blower then the Pax1000, Vortech tech support is easy to work with also. If you send them the # off of the blower they will let you know if and when it was rebuilt. Also the S-trim will make more power down the road if you upgrade heads, cam, ect. As far as the coupler that is missing, go to racepartssolutions.com or something like that they have every coupler you will need.

I agree. The s-trim rocks, works great on a 12 second car or a high 9 car.

thanks, i told him i would take it so long as Vortech verifies the rebuild, at least with in the last year

I've had good luck with my Vortech. I'd say Vortech S-trim or Novi 2000. I'd skip the 1000 if you go with a Paxton

S-trim all the way. My old T-trim easily had over 30,000 miles on it between the previous owner and I. Since I was selling it I called Vortech about a rebuild. The conversation went like this "Is there any play in the shaft?" "Nope." "Does it make boost?" "17psi." "Don't bother sending it in." Sold it 3 years ago, have talked to the guy within the last year and it still makes 17-18psi and he's had no problems. For an aftermarket power adder I think that's a pretty decent track record.
