Black bear hunt scare. Holy crap my pants!

They allow hunting those up here. Not something I want to do. I have a friend who's lost dogs to bears, apparently the dogs are supposed to tree them and then I guess they shoot them out of the trees. In my opinioin, you can't have a big enough gun for those things. I guess even the small ones (275-300#) can kill ya if they want. I've seen them around, generally they run like hell when you make noise, of course so do I.
 
I've been bear hunting once, by myself. I was around 20. I spent about 20 minutes in the woods and figured out I was probably going to get eaten. I've never been back. :lol:
 
At first I just thought it just ran away, then the guy is line STFU! Damn that would make me shit my pants. You can't carry a side arm in Canada either, man what is do to have a .44 mag 45 colt in that situation! Head shot for sure!
 
had one up at our cabin snatch our brid feeder off the pole 8 foot up...herd a noise and turned the flood light on it standing upright nockin it down, didnt realize they could climb that fast though thats crazy
 
Always wanted to bear hunt just dont know where to go thats close....

Bears supposedly reach top speed in 10 feet...point is, you are not going to outrun one. I know a guy with 70 stitches in his ass & thigh from a grizzly sow (with a cub) that he encountered while on a hunt. The guy he was hunting with shot & killed her, but not before she swatted him as he tried to run away.

I was in British Columbia in '04 hunting moose & mountain caribou and saw a few grizzlies. Something about seeing a fuzzy critter of that size (that can eat you) that's a bit un-nerving. My guide had some stories that would keep you up at night. And it didn't help that we left camp and returned to camp every day in the dark. And any time you left camp to do anything, you took your rifle.

I'd love to shoot a Brown or Kodiak some day, but the prices are pretty crazy.

This is what 10mm glock 20 is for.. I don't know if I could have sat there or if I'd load his face full of lead as he came up the tree.

Shooting a bear with a 10mm is like shooting a brick with an Airsoft gun. They have notoriously thick skulls and skin ;)
 
Damn....some people call me cruel, but when i'm up north camping and go walk in the woods were i know theres bears, my dog walks off the leash...that dude was fast.
