Just wanted to say thanks again, and especially to Gary for taking this in and getting started on it for me.

I'll start a build thread later, but I just wanted to give them a shout out for all of their kindness and generosity!

Been waiting for this build thread. A lot of cool potential.

It does. Unfortunately the body is pretty far gone on it. The goal as of right now is just to get it running and driving safe. Going to need some new sheet metal in the floor at a min after the mechanical stuff is worked out, and then drive the shit out of it.

I try to leave a few spots of oil and rust whenever I stop at a car show, just to mark my territory lol. Maybe just bare minimum patch the rusted perforation and keep as much patina as is.

The patina on the passenger side and trunk lid is awesome. Unfortunately the drivers side and hood got hit by primer some years ago. It's lifting badly and seems to be pulling the paint underneath with it... which sucks. I might try to get it all off and just linseed oil it and let mother nature do her thing. IDK yet. I'm kinda worried that when I strip it I'll find bondo and god knows what else and then it would look worse.
