Bicycle Ride

You're killing it. I did 4 miles Wednesday and 4 miles yesterday. Maybe I should start taking pics

It does seem to help!

It takes time to build up, but it seems once you do,
you feel bad if you don't ride that day.

You are doing great, you are consistent, if you weren't, you
wouldn't be getting anywhere. Remember, it took me years
to get where I'm at, but I'm old!

Yeah it’s just a family activity for now.

Did just under 4 miles today, but I forgot to start the Strava app beforehand so I’m not sure exact mileage. Let’s try a pic...

Thanks, me too. It's very visible.

I still have yet to get it on a legit offroad trail. I've been doing more dirt roads or paved trails than I thought I would. I think my next bike will be more of a hybrid type.

Two thoughts;

I always thought I would be doing more offroad trail biking, the more I rode,
the more I discovered I really liked the paved roads & trails. Not saying
this would be you, just don't be surprised if it is.

My bike is a "hybrid type", of sorts, which is to say, my bike is a
mountain bike, with 100 psi road slicks. These tires completely
change the feel & ride experience of your current "mountain bike".

The ones I use (they come in many colors) are the Kenda Kwest. They fit
on your current rims...

These tires are good for about 2,000 to 3,000 miles. I have read others
have gotten about 4,000 miles out of them, but I wouldn't recommend
that.

One word of caution, as these tires wear, they don't like wet pavement. Which
really isn't much of a problem, since we really shouldn't be riding in the rain!

Going to be a great weekend for riding!

I may end up with different tires at some point (but mine are 27.5s). I'll be in the Petoskey area for a trip, going to ride the wheel way and maybe some trails while up there. If I can get out solo, I'd like to do a 15-20 mile ride.

Sounds like a great time planned!

Hopefully you'll get some "me time" and get in a
good 15-20 mile ride - & don't forget to snap some
photos!

I only did 10% of what you did, wow. A little post work ride. Just under 3 miles, 78 ft in elevation gain, 22.4 mph top speed. I was whipped at the top of the hill in the picture, though it doesn’t do it justice. Yeah, my bike was in 2nd gear [emoji23].

Excellent buddy, those hills kill me!

Please remember, 6 years ago, I could only do
1/2 to one mile and I was done!

My top speed today was 20mph (down hill )

We'll have to go riding soon.

Oh, and nice photo!

My top speed was also downhill. Hoping the weather holds tonight, my wife and I want to take our daughter for a ride (pull cart).

Have you come across Kovacs while out riding? He puts some higher miles on his bike riding the dirt roads. We plan to ride soon, I’ll have to shoot you a text when we do.

Yes, do that. I have my other bike with off-road tires.
