I'm looking to buy a decent quality folding pocket knife ($50-$100-ish) as a birthday present for someone and would like to see/feel them so don't want to just order off the internet. Who has the best selection, preferably in the Rochester area?
No good shops around. The only one I know of is in Marshal.
For $100, there isn't a better option. Spyderco Manix 2, G10.

The Delica, Endura or Native would also be good to go. The Benchmade Mini Griptilian is a great knife, no doubt. The handle is a bit short for a lot of people, myself included.
Thanks everyone for all of the excellent input and suggestions. Because I had limited time and wanted to see the knives personally, I ended up purchasing a SOG Flash II Tactical pocket knife at Dick's. It matched the specs that were requested by the individual I am purchasing for, and was around $50. I am sure it is not as good as a Spyderco or Benchmade, but it fills the bill at this time. And as someone else mentioned, it can easily be returned locally if he doesn't like it. Thanks again everyone.
That is what I bought myself a few months ago. I wanted a benchmade but didn't really wanna spend more than $50 and it seemed nice. I have had no issues with it.

Mine is the 556 model.

Great knife, but the Delica is better value. If going with the Mini Griptilian, I would recommend getting the 555 - it has a sheep foot blade and a hole instead of stud.

Matter of preference, I guess. S30V is an awesome steel in terms of strength and edge retention, but it is a bitch to sharpen. For that reason I'll go with the "inferior" 154CM.
I love my Delica. I've had mine for about 13 years now...still use it all the time. Super lightweight and holds a decent edge. Not sure what kind of steel they use nowadays.
